Raiding My Sister's Closet: Outfit Finishers

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Every outfit requires article of clothing or accessory that pulls an entire outfit together and makes it work as a cohesive unit.  For this post, we are calling that piece an 'outfit finisher'.  I usually know if things are not quite right in an outfit will try out finishers until I find just the right ensemble.  It is remarkably difficult sometimes, but always worth the effort!
Here are 3 examples of outfit finishers that I use.

The Belt:  A fun belt is a sure-fire way to pull together an outfit.
It can take an outfit from good to great.
shirt: clothing swap(similar)// jeans: jc penney// shoes: ross(similar)// necklace:francesca's

Jacket:  Jackets are one of my favorite methods for pulling together
an outfit.  I use them more than almost any other kind of finisher.
dress: gap// jacket: anthropologie (similar)// necklace: london// shoes: zara

Statement Necklace: A statement necklace tells you what it does.  It makes a statement.
I love how a necklace can really pull an outfit together nicely.
shirt: forever 21(similar)//skirt: clothing swap// shoes: gift from mom(similar)// necklace: claire's
